In 2010, the industrial zone "Ontustik" with a total area of 337 hectares was created in the city of Shymkent. The total number of projects in the industrial zone "Ontustik" is 95 projects with a total cost of 95.9 billion tenge, with the creation of more than 2,850 jobs.

Currently, 76 investment projects worth 91.4 billion tenge have been implemented and 2,518 new jobs have been created.

Today, the territory of the industrial zone "Ontustik" is 100% protected.
